Many Types of Online Craps Bets

The online craps table looks, at first glance, like an indecipherable maze. But if you look a little closer, you will realize that each part of the virtual craps table symbolizes a different type of craps bet, and they are not that difficult to figure out.

The Pass Line Bet

The Pass Line is the most popular bet in any land-based or online craps casino. When you bet the Pass Line, the online craps game proceeds in two phases: the come-out roll and rolling for the point.

The come-out roll is the first roll of the online craps game. If you roll a Natural (7 or 11) you win the craps game, if you roll Craps (2, 3, or 12) you lose, and if you roll anything else that number becomes your Point.

If the come-out roll establishes a point, you keep rolling the virtual craps dice until you roll either your Point or a 7. If you roll your Point first, you win; if you roll a 7 first, you lose.

More Online Craps Bets

Don’t Pass bet: On the come-out roll, you win if you roll a 2 or 3, lose if you roll a 7 or 11, and tie if you roll a 12. If you establish a Point, you win if a 7 is rolled first and lose if your Point is rolled first.

Come bet: Similar to a Pass Line bet, but you can place the Come bet after the online craps game is already in progress. After you make the Come bet, the next roll acts as a quasi-comeout roll, so a 7 or 11 wins, a 2, 3, or 12, loses, and anything else establishes your Point.

Don’t Come bet: Like the Come bet, you can make a Don’t Come bet at any time during the craps game. Like the Don’t Pass bet, a 2 or 3 wins, a 7 or 11 loses, a 12 ties, and you win if you roll a 7 before the Point and lose if you roll the Point first.

Win and Buy bets: Instead of letting the dice pick a random Point, you can pick the number you like. You win if you roll your number before rolling a 7, and lose if you roll a 7 before your number. The Win bet and Buy bet work the same, but the payouts are often different between the two types of bets.

Lose and Lay bets: Again, you get to pick your number. You win if you roll a 7 before the number, and lose if you roll the number first.

Hard Way bets: It’s not easy to roll a double in online craps. If you bet on Hard Way 4, you win if you roll a Hard 4 (2 and 2) before you roll either a 7 or an Easy 4 (1 and 3). You can bet on Hard Way 4, Hard Way 6, Hard Way 8, or Hard Way 10.

Big 6 and Big 8: You win the Big 6 bet if you roll a 6 before rolling a 7, and you win the Big 8 bet if you roll an 8 before rolling a 7.

The Odds Bets

The Odds bet is an additional bet you can make after establishing a Point on a Pass Line, Don’t Pass, Come, or Don’t Come bet. It’s called the Odds bet because it pays out at the true mathematical odds with no house advantage, making it the best bet available in any online casino game.

You won’t see the Odds bet labeled on the virtual craps table, but you can make the odds bet by clicking in the same area that you clicked for your original bet.

One-Roll Bets

A one-roll bet is a bet that is determined – win or lose – on the next roll of the virtual craps dice. You can make a one-roll bet on 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12, on Any Craps (2, 3, and 12), on C&E (Craps & Eleven), or on the Field (2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, and 12).

Have Fun Playing Craps Online

So many different craps bets means many ways to have fun playing craps online. If you’re new to the game of craps, it’s best to start with the Pass Line bet and the Odds bet. Then, when you have gained some experience and feel confident at the craps table, you can start to diversify and enjoy all the different betting possibilities that the online craps table has to offer.
