How to Play Online Craps

Craps is one of the most exciting of all the casino games. In any land-based casino, you will always see a crowd of screaming and squealing people clustered around the craps table, and craps in the online casino is just as exciting. To play a game of craps, you roll a pair dice and bet on the outcome of the roll. That's all there is to it.

The Online Craps Table

At first glance, the online craps table looks like a confusing mess. Don't worry about it. You just need to learn one simple bet, called the Pass Line bet, and you'll be ready for a lifetime of successful and enjoyable craps playing.

The Pass Line Bet

Playing craps involves two simple procedures: making your bet and rolling the dice. To make a Pass Line bet, place a stack of chips symbolizing the amount you want to bet on the area of the craps table labeled "Pass Line."

The player rolling the dice is called the "shooter." In land-based casino craps, the role of shooter rotates among the players at the craps table. When you play craps online, the shooter is always you.

The first roll in a craps game is called the "come-out roll." There are three possible results of the come-out roll:

  • You roll a "natural" (7 or 11): You win the Pass Line bet. The game is over, and you're ready to start a new game with a new come-out roll.
  • You roll "craps" (2, 3, or 12): You lose the Pass Line bet. The game is over, and you're ready to start a new game with a new come-out roll.
  • You roll any other number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10): The number rolled becomes your "point" for the game, and the game continues. Keep rolling the dice. If you roll your point again before rolling a 7, you win the Pass Line bet; if you roll a 7 before rolling your point, you lose the bet.

The payout on the Pass Line bet is 1:1. In other words, if you bet $10 and you win the bet, you receive an additional $10 from the online casino.

Other Online Craps Bets

Once you have mastered the Pass Line bet, there are lots of other online craps bets you can add to your repertoire. There are Don't Pass Line bets, Come bets, Field bets, Hard Way bets, Any Craps bets, and more.

The important thing is to not feel overwhelmed. Just relax, take it easy, and learn each of the bets one at a time. Alternatively, you can just stick to the Pass Line bet and have a great time playing online craps for the rest of your life with that one simple craps bet. The choice is yours.
