The World Series of Slots

The World Series of Slots was the biggest online slots tournament in slot machine history. It gave out $500,000 in prizes over a 10-week period in the autumn of 2008, and it took place in All Slots Online Casino.

The Format of the World Series of Slots

The World Series of Slots started with four Weekly Championship online slots tournaments. Each of the four Weekly Championship tournaments awarded $25,000 in prizes, with a top prize each week of $10,000.

The top 500 slots players from each of the four Weekly Championship tournaments were invited to participate in the first Monthly Championship tournament. The first Montly Championship online slots tournament awarded $100,000 in prizes, including 200 prizes of at least $100, a first prize of $50,000, a second prize of $10,000, and a third prize of $5,000.

The second half of the World Series of Slots took off with four more Weekly Championship online slots tournaments. The rules were the same, and the prizes were the same, as in the first four Weekly Championship tournaments.

The series culminated with the World Series of Slots Grand Final Slots Championship. The whole online slots world was riveted with this four day event from Friday 7 November through Monday 10 November. The Grand Final featured $200,000 in total prizes, including 200 prizes of at least $100 each, a Grand Prize of a cool $100,000, a Second Place prize of $25,000, and a Third Place prize of $10,000. No other tournament in online slots history had ever awarded prizes on a scale like that before.

The Online Slot Machine Games

The World Series of Slots tournament was played on four of the most popular online slot machine games: Avalon, Loaded, Thunderstruck, and Tomb Raider. Experienced online slots players know that these are four great online slots games, guaranteeing that everyone who participated in the World Series of Slots — regardless of whether or not they won a prize — at least had a great time playing the online slot machines.

And the Winners Are …

More than 10,000 people from countries all over the world took up the challenge to play slots online in the World Series of Slots. Eight hundred of them were fortunate enough to win slots prizes, ranging from $50 up to the Grand Prize of $100,000.

All of the winners followed the key elements of slots strategy for tournament play: always bet the max, don't get distracted, and spin as fast as you can. That is the way to win at slots when you are playing in a multi-player slots tournament.

The top prize winners were:

Juwarseh P. of Singapore won the $25,000 Second Place prize in the World Series of Slots Grand Final.

Petteri V. of Finland won the $50,000 first prize in the first Monthly Championship of the World Series of Slots.

Edward G. of the United States won the $100,000 Grand Prize. Edward went into first place on the second day of the 4-day Grand Final, and then waited anxiously for two-and-a-half days to see if anyone would overtake him. When it was all over and his win was confirmed, Edward said, "Looks like a new car for my bride of 45 years and maybe a cruise in the Caribbean."

A Place in Slots History

Scholars of gambling history say that, after the invention of the slot machine by Charles Fey and the creation of the online slot machine by Microgaming, the World Series of Slots was the biggest event in slot machine history. Never before had so many slots players, from so many different countries around the world, participated in a casino slots tournament. Never before had $500,000 in prizes been given out in a single slots tournament, and never before had any single individual won a slots tournament prize of $100,000. It was, all in all, a very exciting event — an event that will go down in the annals of slots history.
